600km of Tuscany Begins with an Aperitif

A new adventure started today, The Grand Escape Tuscany. A ~600km no-race cycling tour through the beautiful lands of Tuscany, passing by Orbetello, Sorano, Pienza, Siena, Firenze and Volterra. An unfit Dutch cyclist signed up and is commuted to see this trip through to the end! The first day - 75km - was mostly flat and a good warm up for the hilly days ahead. A caffeinated start, a very tasty after ride lunch and an aperitif to end the day!

Twelve Hundred Meters of Hills in Tuscany

Day 3 of the Grand Escape, a true escape of daily life and usual routine, no escape from hills, sweat and crazy fast downhill sections. The first day with proper hills, about 1200 height meters, very challenging, very rewarding coffee, food and views!
